One of the latest craze in the American culture is Extreme Sports. Even children who are no older than four or five years are captivated by it. The reaction of the parents can best be termed as mixed as more and more kids venture into this new craze for extreme sports. While some people welcome these sports as a blessing and a release, there are others who hate the very existence of it.

One of the advantages of kids indulging in extreme sports is that they are out from the house getting their much needed exercise and the television gets some rest while the electric bill lessens. Even though parents hope that their children would get into sports with zeal, their children’s choice of extreme sports can leave them a bit unnerved. Skateboarding, although considered an extreme sport, is only the beginning. The other extreme sports that kids are getting hooked to are trickblading and BMX biking.
BMX bikes can be likened to regular bikes that are on steroids. They are made to be heavy and tough so as to be able to perform all the tricks and jumps. For the biker’s safety, they also have special padding and pegs in places where contact with the bikers is most possible.
Trickbladers use specially manufactured roller blades which have thicker but smaller wheels. They also feature an extra feature known as the grind plate which helps them to perform tricks like sliding down rails. The basic idea is to perform almost all the stunts skateboarders do.
