Perfect Attire

To complete the attire, a chef’s uniform includes several pieces of clothing. Though many of the chefs do not carry all the pieces, most of the big chain hotels and restaurants insist the chefs being properly dressed in the complete uniform. Generally, a chef’s uniform includes a chef hat or head net; chef neckerchief, a bandanna, bow tie or Swiss tie scarf, apron, chef coat or a jacket; chef gloves; belt; pants, and shoes. A chef’s apron, scarf and hat would be a definite part of the uniform which all the chefs are supposed to wear. Even though the eatery may be a little relaxed or lenient with consideration to the neckerchief, scarf or ties many of the chefs also wear them because they act as sweat absorbers in the hot kitchen. In addition to this a bandana is also worn by the chefs which act as sweat blockers.
Many of the chefs have a preference to wear the waistcoats or aprons rather than the trendy jackets as they are not much comfortable. The designer jackets are also available, which are mostly favored restaurants and by large chains of hotels for that stylish and luxurious look. Chefs who do not put on the normal chef hats can wear the skull caps, which mainly seem like usual caps, while making sure that no hair gets its way into a dish being made for a client. Nevertheless, the assistants in the kitchen mostly use these hats, than actual cooks and chefs.
